We worked on the Trail Fest Wagon Road in the clear cut areas before the log bridge and fixed up some drainage problems and water holes, pruned bushes back, meshed one bridge and other trail tweaks. Thanks to Jim, Sue B, Sue D, Rod, Brad, Michael and Dale for helping out. |

Nice sunny day for a ride around the Halfmoon Bay trails. We had a great turn out of about 16 people and we split into two groups to explore the trials. Man those roots are slippery after a rain! After the ride, Urs invited us all over to his wonderful house for coffee. Thanks Urs. |

Four of us started from Crow road and road Patric's Pass, upper Black Tower, Cunning Stunts, Pumpkin Patch, Lost and Found, Patrics' Pass, lower Black Tower and back out. Nice day and a nice ride. |
Five of us got soggy wet riding the trails around Halfmoon Bay. We rode Tin Pan Alley, Pump It Up and the new trail off there. Then climbed up to Pterodactyl and looped back to (can't remember trail name), up Norm, onto Barrel of Frogs and out Little Knives to the road. Norm needs some clean up and it would be nice to mesh the bridges sometime. |

Boy those roots are slippery! Some of us felt like we just lost our training wheels! We rode Freezer Burn, Barrel of Frogs, Riley Falls, Leave it to Beaver, Midlife Crisis and back the way we came. |

One group road Up 'n' Over, the whole Wagon Road, down the Ripped Nipple, mostly back on the road and ending with a section of the Wagon Road, down Dale's Detour and Kevin's. The other group road the Wagon Road and down the Upper Tube. |
We had a great work party in West Sechelt! About 18 of us finished off the trail that connects the top of Duroid to the Telus road that goes to Frogger. The trail was christened “BRAT” (Brad Rages Against Tanya) over shots of Dr. McGillicuddy's Fireball.  |
Huge turn out today. I think we had 23 riders to take in the great weather and trails in West Sechelt. We rode all the new trials that Brad and many others have been working on over the summer. They were so much fun, some of us rode them in both directions!! |
Four of us (the crazy ones!) rode around Ankle Biter before 'catching up' to the other 6 that went directly up Sidewinder. Then it was on to White and Pressure Drop (with a detour to Wildman for the really crazy ones). Finished off with Flume. Nice ride all in all. |

| We road from the Mattresses to HWY 103 which was a little wet at the start. Then Susie O Street and up Dudes Bypass which is no longer muddy since it has been covered in gravel. Down William's Way and back to the cars. |
We had a great turn out for the work party on Guys Gulch; about 30 people in total from various groups. Various drainage work was done, a banked corner was built, some small jumps and a log ride were created. |
| Started from Trout Lake with Tin Pan Alley and its extension which goes all the way to the old highway (nice ride). Then up the highway to the pump house, up Gord’s Grunt and onto Missing Link. We turned around at Little Knives and went a little ways back on the Missing Link and then took Reilly Falls and 101 out to the highway because Brad had a mechanical. |
| We started the ride at the Mattresses and it didn't take long to hit the snow line at the bottom of Janet's Jungle. At that point the road was too slick to continue so we rode (and walked up) the jungle. On Dude's Bypass the snow was about a foot deep!! Road Grant's Grind down and it was a blast in the snow. Hit Surfs Up and one of us did Cunning Stunts (wonder who that was). Road up to the new stunts for the latest Kranked flic and then checked out an old cabin. Hit Sleepy Hollow on the way back and it was coffee time! |
Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe: All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe I don’t know what Lewis Carroll meant when he wrote this in Jabberwocky, but if he meant that it was raining when they got to the ride and they thought about just going for coffee but the forecast wasn’t for much rain so they rode anyway but it kept raining and it was dark in the woods but they still kept riding up Sidewinder and got soaked through completely and there were puddles and fir needles on the trail like it was fall but at least it was warm even if the rain did keep falling and then they had to make a decision about whether to keep going for a bunch more time to Pressure Drop or just go down Ridge run even though it would mean walking some parts but at least it was down to the cars and coffee and a chance to get out of the rain so down they went and then just when they got to the cars the rain stopped but they went for coffee anyway, well, if that’s what he meant then . . . today’s ride twas brillig! | Michael and I were hoping to ride Hwy 103 today; boy were we dreaming!! After hiking for 1.5 hrs through snow that was 5 feet deep at times (yes, I know we are crazy) we finally escaped down Red Baron (I wish I had a camera with me.). We had to pedal down most of Red Baron!! Looks like we will not be doing a club ride up there until the end of May. I finished up with Charlie Brown, Pumpkin Patch, Lost'n'Found, Patrick's Pass and a little bit of Black Tower. |
Four of us made a good start on the new Telus road connector trail "BE good Tanya" represented by the blue line in the attached picture. I drew the line in to the best of my ability but I can make no guarantees to it's accuracy. A week ago Friday, Rod and I hiked and flagged a route that looked pretty good part of which when riding back up the valley would have been a hard single track climb. Jim J and I hiked back down that route yesterday and on the way back up from the bottom Jim noticed that the skidder road we were on had another fork going up. Needless to say we followed the road and it brought us right to the open mossy rock section that Laurie Eric Jim and I stopped at yesterday. This new route will make a much easier climb and save us all allot of work as we mostly need to remove some of the small trees that are on the road bed. It also answers Laurie's question of how the old timers got the equipment in and the trees out. The next work day will be Saturday Nov. 6 leaving from my house at 9:40am and meeting at the intersection of Trout lake road and the Halfmoon Carlson forest service road (AKA the Carin range road). We rode up the Big Firs logging road and onto the Beaver Pond trail.
From there, some of us road up to Over Easy and then up BRAT. Others
took the logging road around, up the Telus road and met up with the
first group just as they came out of the top of BRAT (perfect timing).
Then we went down BRAT (much more fun than up), onto Over Easy, then
Easy Street and down Duriod. |
| Thirteen of us were out to enjoy a sunny day for riding Slick Rock and Huigi's. Loraine’s birthday party was great and the prize or surprise contest was very entertaining. |
We had great weather for the ride. Rode up the mine site road and into Rock-a-Billy. Then up Desota on to Easy Street and out via Strawberry Fields. One of road Parbac while the rest headed back via Ky's trail. |
| Eighteen (Yes, 18!) of us biked and hiked around the Caren Range for 5 hours. It was a long day but well worth it for the spectacular views of the inlet. Unfortunately, there was cloud cover when we were up at the Mt. Hallowell lookout but we did get some peek-a-boo looks at Ruby Lake and the Saltery Bay Ferry terminal. |
